In a Moment

In a Moment

“In March 2017 the game changed,” my voice gets a little low for drama when I say that. It sounds a little cliche but it is the truth. March almost didn’t come for Ainkas because in January 2017 I was ready to quit. I was in the lowest place I could have been as a business woman. This baby that I birthed, loved, dreamt about since middle school and wanted so badly was beginning to drain me and my bank accounts. I was working a job that allowed me to be flexible and available as a single mom but was barely paying the bills. I had to take care of myself, my son and my business. I was at the end of my rope. I felt I’d given it all I had and Ainkas wasn’t moving forward.

I wanted to give up.

In February my grandmother (One time for the best Grandma), who refused to allow me to quit,  gave me a thousand dollar gift to pour into my business. To this point I’d focused on selling my arm candy sets, carefully curated bracelets.I decided to revamp my strategy and focus on the Dainty Initial Necklace. I told myself, if this doesn’t work out, I’m walking away. Reality weighed heavily on my back, I had a son, I had bills, and instead of feeling beautifully accessorized by my company it felt like heavy shackles, I’d put on myself.

I poured my last, (think the droplets of water that cling to the inside of the bottle when it’s actually empty) into promoting and selling the Dainty Initial Necklace.

I sent the necklace to every woman in my circle with a social media following in February and ran a promotion in March.

The necklace went off. I’d never received as many orders in a single month for a single item. March 2017 changed my life. It was as if God was rewarding my perseverance. Girl, everything just hit, bloggers I didn’t even know,  orders from places I’d not heard of. Needless to say the Dainty Initial Necklace has a special place in my heart , it literally changed my year and has changed the dynamic of my business.

The moral of the story is, it just takes one! One product, one thought, one action, a single breakthrough that reminds you of your why and how far your determination can take you.

This journey, has not been easy, but it has absolutely been worth it.  As always I hope that I have encouraged and uplifted you. You too, can do what you love, with people you love, and live out your passion. You are powerful and complete.

XO Lamara
